Victorinox Classic Alox Berry 2018 Limited Edition Knife

 Swiss Army Knives.  They’re lightweight, easy to carry, and incredibly useful.  One of the first items we saw in the Victorinox 2018 lineup is this year’s Victorinox Alox Limited Edition 2018 series. If you haven’t heard of the Victorinox Alox Limited Edition Series, for the last three years they have released classic pocketknives with Alox handles in distinct colors.  On the back of each knife, they have engraved the manufacturing year on the back.  These items are incredibly popular among collectors and SAK enthusiasts.  The color of the year for the handles this year is Berry Red.

Victorinox has been making their Swiss Army Knives with Alox since 1957.  It is a fantastic material that is eye catching, has a great hand feel, and is slip resistant. Victorinox tells us, “To make the Alox scales, used Nespresso capsules must be melted down and then cast. After being punched from aluminum and embossed, Alox scales go through a process called Eloxal which uses anodic oxidation to create a protective layer. It is this final layer which allows for the coloring of the scales.”  This process increases the corrosion resistance, and ruggedness of the already rugged Victorinox Swiss Army Knives.

Each knife in this series features Red Berry Alox handles and has 2018 engraved on the back.  Finally, each  knife in this series comes packaged in a gorgeous black box with red lettering.
