 Retro 51 Tornado IWM Collection Spitfire New- Sealed - Numbered N3200 

Built in 1939, the Supermarine Spitfire Mark 1a known as Spitfire N3200 was issued to No. 19 Squadron at RAF Duxford in April 1940. Captained by Squadron Leader Geoffrey Stephenson, it participated in 'Operation Dynamo' during the Dunkirk emergency evacuation. Spitfire N3200 successfully shot down a Stuka before being shot down itself. Stephenson crash-landed on a beach near Calais, where he was captured and remained a prisoner until the end of the war. In 1986, after strong currents revealed it, the Spitfire was recovered from the sand. Dr. Thomas Kaplan and Simon Marsh acquired the plane in 2000 and meticulously restored it. In 2015, the Spitfire N3200 was donated to the Imperial War Museum and received by the Duke of Cambridge during a visit to Duxford. The Mark 1a fighter was flown again, 75 years after its last mission.
