 We’re thrilled to present our exciting new Cherry Blossom writing instruments for 2020, produced exclusively for Fahrney’s by Retro 51. Released each year to coincide with the blooming of the spring cherry blossoms in our home base of Washington, DC, the 14th collection features the cherry blossoms floating in the skies above the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, with the Capitol Dome and the Washington Monument in the background.
A fearless Blue Jay looks over the scene from his perch. Dedicated in 1954, the war memorial is dedicated to all U.S. Marine Corps personnel who died in the defense of the United States since 1775. The memorial was inspired by the iconic 1945 photograph of six Marines raising a U.S. flag atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. The solid metal barrel of each pen is finished in frosted blue metallic with frosted charcoal accents. The Cherry Blossom Pencil is a 1.15mm pencil topped with a pink eraser.
